Handcrafted American made planters and pots
After a crazy year we think it's about time for some Spring cleaning to refresh and clear out the warehouse. Open our doors to the sunshine and warm air of a new season!
Items listed here are LIMITED quantities and one of a kind items. Once they are gone, that's it.
This modern and simple style planter will blend in perfectly to any home while showing off that new plant you secretly brought home after being told "no more plants". There's always room for more plants Bryan, you don't control me!
Our highland bowl planters are handmade in Ohio with clay mine just down the road. Unlike plastic pots, our clay helps your plants grow and thrive. Clearly Salmon color is a unique color because we do not know how it happened, our best guess is the glaze spray gun was not cleaned out as well as it should have been when making the switch from Raspberry to Abalone. We made a whole run of our indoor planters and when they came off of the kiln they were this beautiful color. We do not have this color in our line but they were too pretty to keep hidden in a warehouse. This bowl is one of a kind and limited.
These planters are 100% handcrafted with rich clay deposits in Roseville, Ohio. Burley is the last American Made pottery factory around. We still make pottery using the lost art of Jiggering and some of our jiggermen go back generations.

Why not? Burley Clay pottery is American made. It is made in Ohio. It is hand made by talented artisans whose skills have been passed from generation to generation. Generations of families that have been born and raised in Eastern Ohio.
More than 50% of the ceramics produced in America between 1840 and 1930 were manufactured by Ohio potteries. The two most prominent areas being East Liverpool, often called the “Pottery Capital of the World,” and the areas around Roseville, Zanesville, and Crooksville. McCoy, Weller, and Roseville potteries in Eastern Ohio established themselves as successful businesses and the area eventually became known as the “Pottery Belt” and “Clay Corridor.”
Pottery has a long and rich history in the Eastern and Southeastern areas of Ohio. Sadly, with the influx of imported goods, many potteries have closed. Burley Clay pottery has remained strong by watching trends and changing as consumer’s tastes change. Today’s consumer knows that American-made means quality and value. Recently, the Burley Pottery team decided to ground themselves and refocus on their strength – the manufacture of unique, handmade, American made pottery.
My order of 4 items arrived in the middle of you know what kind of weather.......everything was in PERFECT CONDITION! In all my years (75) I've never seen merchandise packed as wisely and professionally as this was. I won't suggest it could be dropped from an airplane but the strategic use of cardboard and foam showed that your shipping department is at the front of online sales. Even though it's currently zero degrees here I'm excited for warmer weather so, I can share my birdbath bowl replacement, the monogrammed pot and flower pots I bought for a friend's birthday. This is truly (as ABC says) "America STRONG"!!!

Burley is the largest producer of stoneware birdbaths and planters in the US. While pottery trends have changed and shifted over the years, we are seeing a dramatic increase in demand for quality handmade products that are made right here in the USA. With the pandemic outbreak, the garden industry has experienced a huge shift to gardens and green-spaces both indoors and out, presenting Burley with the opportunity to produce private label planters exclusively for STUMP and Greendigs companies.
